Potluck at Gina's in San Francisco, Saturday, June 2, 2007

This was a last minute event that was posted on the Bay Area Friends Yahoo Group only. Come join us for a Bay Area Friends Wine Tasting Event in the beautiful Napa Valley. We are going to start off the day by meeting at Dan's beautiful home in Benicia. We will leave our cars there and then board a fleet SUVs and MiniVans with designated drivers to nearby Napa and tour a few wineries. We will stop at one of the wineries for a picnic lunch. Then hit two more wineries on the way back to Benicia.

Then back to Dan's house for a wonderful Mediterranean BBQ around 6 PM. The party is BYOB so you may want to pick up a bottle while we are wine tasting or bring another beverage of your choice.

The cost for this event is $15 which includes gas for the drivers and the Mediterranean Feast! What a bargain!

You are on your own for wine tasting costs. Plan on bringing a picnic lunch to eat at one of the wineries.

The wineries on the tour, we are thinking of, include:

Elyse - 10am - 11:30am (they can only accomodate 12 people at a time in their tasting room) Tasting is Free

Rombauer - 12pm - 1:30pm $10 per person for Tasting

Von Strasser - 2pm - 3:30pm

I have talked to the winery concierges for each of these wineries. But they are subject to change depending on the RSVPs.

If you can't make it for the wine tasting tour, but just want to join us for dinner that is okay too! Just make sure to let me know that when you RSVP.

Bring a sleeping bag if you need to crash at Dan's. You can also book a hotel room nearby at one of three hotels:

You MUST RSVP and pay in advance for this event. It takes a lot of time and coordination to pull something like this off so that everyone can have a good time and be safe, no DUIs!

San Francisco HELP Group Meeting

The San Francisco HELP Group will be taking the summer off.  However, there will be other informal Herpes Support Group meetings in other parts of the Bay Area.  See below.

Please come to meet other members, both old timers and newbies, of BAF and to perhaps learn about living with herpes. This is not an official support group but a group of people that all have herpes and a group that has had it's up and downs in dealing with the virus.

Coffee, Tea, Water and Snacks will be served.

Game night at my house!

Particulars: If you have a favorite food or drink you'd like to share, feel free to bring. I plan to have plenty of both so you really won't need to. BBQ can be fired up and back yard room-o-plenty to hang out. I have two lemon trees, so be prepared for a lemon drop or two! If you have a sig-other, please bring. Or come single. Anything goes! Let me know if you plan to bring your favorite game. If you play an instrument, bring it - we might get tired of playing board games. (and I'm always up for annoying the neighbors!)

Responsibility factor: Nobody drives home drunk. I have mattresses and blankys or we can get you a taxi. :) No matter how much you hate that drivers license picture, you are not getting rid of it on my watch. HUGS!

NOTE TO NEWBIES: This is my very first time organizing anything for BAF and I've only been to 2 events. I am as green as you, so come enjoy some food and drink and keep me company while I fumble my way through this with you. :)

Join us for June's Sunset Sunday on the Peninsula at B Street Billiards in San Mateo. This is a great place with a fun bar. You can play pool or just sit around and visit with people from SF BAF. While they have some snacky food there, it is NOT a restaurant however there are several restaurants in downtown San Mateo if someone wants to grab a bite to eat before heading to B St. Billiards.

Look for the Mylar Happy Birthday Balloon.
