San Francisco HELP Group MeetingThe San Francisco HELP Group will be taking the summer off. However, there will be other informal Herpes Support Group meetings in other parts of the Bay Area. See below.South Bay Support Group and Social in Sunnyvale, Wednesday, July 11, 6:30 - 8:30 PM Please come to meet other members, both old timers and newbies, of BAF and to
perhaps learn about living with herpes. This is not an official support group
but a group of people that all have herpes and a group that has had it's up and
downs in dealing with the virus. Drinks at Zeitgeist in San Francisco, Thursday, July 12, 6 PM - ? Mark your calendars! There's no better place for socializing in the summer than Zeitgeist -- San Francisco's favorite biker bar. For those not already in the know, Zeitgeist features a big backyard with picnic tables, a giant BBQ turning out burgers (with grilled cheeses for the vegetarians), and the general pleasures to be found at the bottom of a frosty, beer-type beverage. 20 beers on tap, so bring your thirst! Please join us (also known as San Francisco-based BAFers Julie and Colin) for a night of talking, drinking, and biker watching on Thursday, July 12th. We'll be out on the patio at six sharp: look for the stylish mylar balloon positioned on our picnic table. We're crossing our fingers for nice weather, but remember this is San Francisco! Even if the weather is nice where you live, remember to layer layer layer! You'll be so glad you did. As in previous years, we will be staying in shared 4-bed tent-cabins at Curry Village, which have all sheets, pillows, blankets and bedding. Bathrooms/showers are a short walk away. Carpools will be forming from all over California. After July 1st, the price is $85/pp. Reservations are on a "first paid, first served" basis. Men, Women and snorers will be assigned to different tent-cabins. There will be Group Pizza Dinner on Saturday Night which is included in the price. Other meals are your own responsibility, but there are many places to grab a meal or snack at Curry Village. Couples, people with kids, snorers, and other people who want more privacy should make their own separate reservations by going to http://www.yosemitepark.com. You will need to pay me $10/pp extra for the Group Dinner on Saturday night and I need to know in advance if you are attending so that we buy enough food. Please note that Curry Village sometimes sells out a few weeks before the weekend of the trip, and it is even harder to get reservations elsewhere in Yosemite Village. Some people will hiking to Half Dome and Cloud's Rest; others will be doing shorter or less strenuous hikes, horseback riding, inner-tubing, bike riding, or just hanging out on the Valley Floor. Activities to choose from will be emailed to those attending the week before the trip.
